Hi,
My name is Cinzia Borello and I am a formally web designer from Italy. I love creating easy-to-use, bright, usable and accessible web interfaces. I am also interested in technology, social media and web marketing strategies.
First-class graduated in Communication in the Information Society with a master thesis in Computer Science, about OntoRulE: a Flexible Rule-based Engine that Exploits Ontological Information – in partnership with Computer Science department of Università di Torino and Telecom Italia Lab.
During my university years, I was working and studying at the same time, and I also spent one semester in Belgium, at Université de Liège as Erasmus exchange student. At that time I became fluent in French.
Then as soon as I graduated in July 2008, I thought that another experience abroad would have been a good idea to improve my English. For this reason I asked a visa and I moved to Toronto, Canada in August 2008 [Working Holiday Program]. My stay lasted 6 months while I studied English and worked in a restaurant.
I went back to Italy in February 2009, and considering that I have not spent enough time abroad yet, I applied for an intership sponsored by an Italian Foundation [Master dei Talenti, Fondazione CRT]. In May 2009 I moved to Tampere, Finland, where I worked for a year on a project called Demola, supported by Hermia Ltd and Nokia Research Center.
In June 2010 a new challenge knocked at my door, and I currently work for Facebook from the European HQ in Dublin, Ireland.
I like, therefore I am.
